My brother (younger by two years) got married a few days ago. He call's his wife a zebra, she calls him a giraffe - how can you NOT draw something based on that? Sorry for the photo, but I didn't have time to scan it.

I think Serge sang about this sometime. I have this wierd slump of inactivity. I have a thousand things I want to do and all the time in the world to do them. But for some reason *pffft* nothing. Maybe I work better with a little pressure? Really starting to piss me off anyway. I dislike watching TV, no wierd idealistic thing, its just boring. And I hate just watching the scrolling twitter feed or Facebook too... I have a gazillion things I like to play around with and nothing happens. I guess this is one of those "meh"-phases or something. :)

But all that will change - its late now so I think that saying "tomorrow" wont be procrastination at all. Plus tomorrows theres school and nothing brings out the illustrator in me as the fact that I am not allowed to sit and draw. 

Not me but that feeling that I hate - doing nothing just to get time to go.

Comics of christmas past #1 - "Flight"

From time to time I make some comics. No reason why, just because I WANT to make a comic or two and I never really have the drive to do it. I'm in one of those horrible little anti-creative hells right now where I really WANT to do something bigger and just can't do it. So I thought I could atleast post comics I have already done.

This first one was based on a theme provided by Ben Towle as a sort of warm-up for other illustrators on Google plus. The theme was "How can penguins fly?". I started with one small illustration and then it just grew and grew and grew to three pages.

Splashed some water on the sketch

I added some water and water colour on the sketch of my sleeping husband. The result was pretty ok for a sketch and Im thinking of doing something more with it later on. Perhaps try my hands on some acrylics.

Beyond that its hurry-up-saturday. The sleepers birthday is tomorrow and I have to rush out to buy some late presents aswell as a cake and after that I have some illustrations to finish for the magazine Arbetaren

Should have worked on the comic - doodled instead

I have these five ideas for comics - a comic for me I guess not something that I could sell - that I really want to do but I keep putting it off. Putting it off seems to be my favorite pass-time when it comes to personal projects and that pisses me off. Instead of doing that I did allot of doodling.

I get this from time to time which is understandable. Its not that fun watching my neck all day. Anyway we sat down to see some old Hitchcock movie last night and I got to doodle while doing that. So this is what came out of it.

Right now I'm in the process of sending out portfolios and I'm just not very good at that. I keep downplaying myself or just putting it off.

Busier busier busier

There is a point in any man or womans life when he/she has to sit down and ask herself "am I an idiot?".

That time is now.

For some wonderful reason I thought that studying while working freelance would be a cake walk! I've never studied before but honestly - how hard could it possibly be?! Students seems to do it all the time and after a long and prolific life in the "private sector" (yes that includes working at 7eleven) my opinion on students wasn't high.

So theres a big test this friday, theres whats known as the högskoleprovet which is like a random test ment to show your just general knowledge in fields like math, language and "other" and theres deadlines! Deadlines galore! They say that you work better under pressure - and I guess thats true, but "they" could also say "you work better in a state of constant panic".

So I'll just post some pictures I did for fun and go on with my studies, my work and my studies and perhaps I should do the dishes aswell.

Drawing and watching movies

So yesterday we watched the three first Mission Impossible movies. It was... well it was nice, otherwise we wouldn't have done it, but they are not exactly great films and there are good reasons why you never really remember them and can rewatch them every now and then.

Anyway during the whole 5 hours movie marathon I drew on my scetch pad so I thought I should add them here.

This is another "Kill!Kill!" one, I'm gonna do a collective post with just those one day.
